When it comes to food, German gourmet survival foods may be a little different from our Western counterparts.
Gourmet survival and organic foods are a growing trend in Germany, but for many consumers it’s the most affordable way to get their fix.
For many people, their basic food options are more expensive than what they can get in the U.S., and those that do still are usually a bit on the pricier side.
According to the latest research from food analytics firm eMarketer, a whopping 57 percent of German consumers are currently buying organic food, compared to 20 percent in the United States.
While the U, UK, and Australia all saw an increase in food prices last year, Germany saw a drop in prices.
In the U., organic food sales increased by 14.7 percent compared to the previous year, and in the UK, organic sales increased 8.6 percent.
According with the company, organic food will be more affordable in Germany than in the US, and there’s no reason why that trend won’t continue.
For instance, organic German food costs €2.96 ($3.15) per kilogram, compared with the US average of $3.36 per kilo.
The report also showed that German food brands are still the most popular in the country, with 10 brands making up 90 percent of sales, while in the first quarter of 2019, there were four organic brands in total.
That trend is only expected to grow.
“Growth in the organic food sector in Germany is already on track to exceed the growth in organic retail sales by 2025,” the company said.
It’s not just the German market that is benefiting from the increased demand for organic food.
For those who are struggling to find food at home, there’s also a lot of competition in the market.
In recent years, there has been a massive shift to cheaper food, with more and more consumers switching to a more plant-based diet.
In addition, a recent report by the United Nations World Food Programme showed that a majority of the world’s population is living in countries where the availability of fresh produce is limited, or worse, completely dependent on a crop.
That means, for many people who cannot afford to eat a meat-free diet, it’s even more important to be able to enjoy a delicious and nutritious meal.
